Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage Guidelines

  1. General Policy
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) is recognized as a supporting tool in research and publishing but cannot replace human judgment, critical thinking, or scientific integrity.
  • The journal acknowledges the increasing role of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI tools and is committed to promoting their ethical and responsible use.
  1. Guidelines for Authors

2.1 Permitted Uses

  • AI tools may be used for language refinement, grammar correction, or formatting assistance.
  • AI-generated content must not be used to create original research data, clinical recommendations, or medical opinions.

2.2 Authorship & Accountability

  • AI systems cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.
  • The submitting authors hold full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript.

2.3 Mandatory Disclosure

  • Any use of AI tools (e.g., for writing assistance, data analysis, or figure generation) must be clearly declared in the cover letter and within the Acknowledgement or Methods section.
  • The declaration must include the tool name, version/model, and source.

2.4 Plagiarism Compliance

  • Authors must ensure the submission is free from plagiarism, including plagiarism introduced through AI-generated text or images.
  • Proper citations must be provided for all quoted or paraphrased content.
  1. Guidelines for Reviewers and Editors

3.1 Confidentiality & Data Protection

  • Reviewers must not upload manuscripts or excerpts to AI platforms, as this may compromise confidentiality, breach author rights, or expose sensitive data.

3.2 Human-Centric Review Process

  • Peer review must be conducted with human expertise and critical analysis.
  • AI cannot substitute the thoughtful interpretation and domain-specific judgment required in peer review.

3.3 Conditional Use of AI

  • If AI tools are employed to support manuscript evaluation (e.g., fact-checking), prior approval from the editorial office is required and such use must be explicitly disclosed in the review report.
  1. Editorial Commitment

4.1 The journal upholds the highest ethical standards for peer review and editorial decision-making.

4.2 All participants in the publication process—authors, reviewers, and editors—are expected to exercise transparency, caution, and accountability when using AI tools.
