This case report details the management of peri-implant recession through soft tissue augmentation, highlighting the procedural approach and outcomes.

Case Presentation

A 23-year-old female patient presented with peri-implant soft tissue recession around a maxillary implant. Clinical and radiographic assessments indicated insufficient soft tissue volume and improper implant positioning as contributing factors. A connective tissue graft (CTG) was selected to augment the peri-implant mucosa.

Results

Post-operative follow-up at six months demonstrated significant improvement in the peri-implant soft tissue volume and reduction in recession. The augmented tissue remained stable, and the patient reported high satisfaction with the aesthetic and functional outcomes. No complications were observed, and regular follow-ups ensured continued peri-implant health.

Conclusion

This case report underscores the effectiveness of connective tissue grafting in managing peri-implant soft tissue recession. Comprehensive assessment, meticulous surgical technique, and diligent post-operative care were critical to the successful outcome. The findings suggest that soft tissue augmentation is a viable solution for enhancing peri-implant aesthetics and function, warranting further research to establish standardized protocols for broader clinical application.

Keywords

Peri-implant recession, soft tissue augmentation, connective tissue graft, dental implants, aesthetic outcomes.
Arthy Arrvind Vivek Sharma Pramod Yadav Copyright (c) 2025 Indian Journal of Clinical Research in Dentistry 2025-01-07 2025-01-07 5 2 1 4 10.53274/IJCRD.2024.5201
